GUERRA GARDEN – José Antonio Guerra
I will not have a harvest delivery this week and my harvest is finished for this season. It is earlier than expected due to a number of challenging field conditions this year, including sustained heavy rains which damaged most of my late summer harvest. I look forward with joy to growing for you next season and extend heartfelt gratitude for your support of my farm and my family this year.
GREEN THUMB GROWERS – Tom Miller
I do not anticipate a harvest delivery this week.
SIDE SHARES:
CHARIS FARM & HOMESTEAD – Jen Ferinde & Family
Pastured, organically-produced, soy-free, hand-gathered Chicken Eggs $8 per dozen.
Egg production has decreased as usual this time of year, and I will not have surplus eggs for direct purchase this week or for the rest of the season. Egg Shares will be distributed as usual.

GOLDEN ACRES ORCHARD – John Thomson & Mrs. Scottie Thomson
We look forward to delivering another Apple Juice Share in late October, along with the apple harvest for FACSAP members.
Please return your clean glass gallon jugs if you have saved them from last year.
Apple Harvest Update: We should have Golden Delicious, York, and Jonathans. Not sure about the other varieties until I mow the orchard. Plenty of apple juice is available and should have some vinegar but have not yet bottled it.

SEEDLING SOURCE – Aline Fisher
Organically-grown Seedlings READY FOR PLANTING NOW in your home’s winter garden!
I have beautiful lettuces ready! Try growing a 4-pack or two in a pot or window box: Red Salad Bowl, Red Planet blend, Outredgious, Simpson elite, Flashy Trout back, (just come & see for your pick of favorites!)
Kales: Red Russian, Siberian
Broccoli Raab
Baby Bok Choy
Arugula
(all are in 4-packs for $3)
I can take payment on Square invoice once you order or the self-serve cash box will be there.
Pre-orders are welcome. Just email me at
TIP: Consider extending your season, by using a row cover (Reemay or Agribon are good types. I usually have to cut mine since my space is small), or by making a simple cold frame. The average frost date for Fredericksburg is around October 25. Many greens can handle and even taste better after a frost, and lettuces often take light frosts, but they can use some protection once the real colds hit, below 30 or so. Happy Fall!
Best wishes and thanks!
-Aline
